Is 5% tint legal in California?

Not on the front side windows, and not on the windshield. On the rear side windows and the rear window, 5% is legal — there is no darkness limit behind the driver, provided the car has working mirrors on both sides.

How long does ceramic tint last?

A quality ceramic film professionally installed should last the life of the car without purpling, bubbling or fading. Cheap dyed film, by contrast, often starts turning purple within two or three years.

Can you tint a Tesla Model 3 rear window in one piece?

Yes. The Model 3 rear glass is a single large curved pane, and it is fitted as one piece — no seam across the middle. It takes heat-shrinking the film to the curve before it goes on, which is a skill rather than a shortcut.

Do I have to remove old tint first?

Yes. New film cannot be laid over old film — it has to come off first, along with all of its adhesive. We do the removal here, and it adds time to the job rather than being a separate visit.
